New Super Mario Bros Glitches

Okay, I would like to say I have just bought New Super Mario Bros a few days ago, and apart from already completing the game, found about 7 new glitches in the game, including an awesome time freezing glitch!
The Awesome Time Freezing Glitch

First, pick the level which is the World 2 Tower or the World 3 Tower. Now go up the level to the Bowser Jr boss room, and enter as Fire Mario. Note there is either water or quicksand beneath the platform.

Now jump off the edge. keep jumping, and fire fireballs at Bowser Jr while jumping and do not step on the platform. Now, when he dies, the timer will stop, like normal. But you can keep moving around and throwing fireballs, as you aren't on the platform to trigger his escape sequence! In this mode, the touch screen and pause menu also do not work.

Swim or jump under the arena wall

Do the above, but sink down until you are near the bottom. Swim to the left or right wall, and you can actually swim under it!

Swim under the Fortress

In world 3, go to the Castle. Now in any patch of water, sink down a certain way. When a certain distance down (near the bottom), swim at the platform. you can keep swimming and go right under the platforms, avoiding the Whomps and everything else. You can also go under the floor in certain places, in inacessible pools of water!

Dancing Dry Bones

Go to World 5 Tower (I think). Ride the platform up, and quite near the top, starting attacking the Dry Bones. You want it to be underneath where a block is when the platform reaches the top. If done correctly, the Dry Bones will get stuck and move back and forwards mega quick, like he's dancing!

Trick found by various people on Gamefaqs (not me)

To activate Challenge Mode, pause the game outside a level and press LRLR XXYY. A message wil appear, and now, when in a level, you cannot backtrack, like in the old Super Mario Bros game! This is vital for some glitches. To deactivate it, reactivate the combo of buttons.

Get stuck badly

In the second world's castle, there is a star coin in a small alcove. Go up the platform to there, avoiding the spiky ball and keep going to the left while challenge mode is active. You can't back track with this mode, so you get stuck there with no choice but to exit the level, or if it's your first time, wait until the time limit runs out and Mario dies!

Spastic Mario

As a shell, go onto a tight rope in the first Bowser level. Hold the button to dash, and start spinning. Go to the edge of the rope and keep holding it. Mario will act really weird and white smoke will appear!

New Super Mario Bros Important Tips

Play as Luigi
To play as Luigi, hold L and R while selecting a file from the main menu.
Go to world 4
To access world 4, beat the world 2 boss as mini-Mario.
Go to World 7
To access world 7, beat the world 5 boss as mini-Mario
New Backgrounds
To get new backgrounds, beat the game once and you can buy them from a new toad house in world 1 for 20 star coins each.
Secret Backgrounds
To get a secret background, beat the game and collect all the star coins in the game.
Infinite Toad House items
Complete all levels to get this.
1 star next to file name
Bea the game once
2 stars next to file name
Complete all levels
3 stars next to name
Beat all levels, collect all star coins and spend all star coins. Levels in this case include cannons, pipes and Toad houses.
Easy way to win first two Bowser battles
Just run into Bowser or skeleton Bowser while powered up, and you can keep running right through him with the invincibility generated after being hit. Then , just hit the switch!

Here are the New Super Mario Bros Boss strategies:

Boss Guide

Bowser Junior Battle Style 1-

Jump on his head as he runs at you, then avoid him while in his shell. Now repeat twice.

Style 2- Avoid his charge attack, and deflect the shell he throws to attack. Now jump on him. Repeat twice.

Bowser- Either-

• 1: Go on the platforms, jump above his head and land on the switch
  
  
• 2: Go through him while powered up and hit the switch.
  
  
• 3: Go underneath him when he jumps
  
  
• 4: Fire fireballs at him until he's defeated.

Mummy Pokey- Jump on his head when he is low, and when he is really tall, just avoid him. Jump on his head three times to win. Or, while mini Mario, ground pound his head three times and you go to world 4 instead of world 3.

Cheepskipper- Jump on him three times when he exits the water or fire many fireballs at him to fry this fish!

Giant Goomba- Jump on his head three times or fire fireballs at him from the far right or left of the screen, where he can't attack.

Petey Piranha- When he dives, avoid him. He'll fall over. Now ground pound him. Repeat twice.

Monty Mole- Jump on his head when he is about to throw a bob-omb. Avoid the bullet bills. Repeat twice.

Lakithunder- When he dives, jump on his head and repeat twice. Avoid the lightning and spinies he throws at you.

Skeleton Bowser- Jump over him, or go throughh him while powered up. Fireballs can't hurt him.

Bowser and Bowser Jr- Avoid Bowser Jrs first attack, and fire the shell he throws back. Pound him twice. Now run under/jump over Bowser and hit the switch.

Universal Techniques:

If you use a blue shell and rush around at high speed, you can attack the boss just by hitting it. Hit it three times to win the battle rather easily.

Most bosses and Bowser Jr die very easily if you keep hitting them with fireballs.

Use a mega mushroom and jump on a boss to beat it. This is so neat when against Monty mole, and the tank just collapses!

Just run into Bowser jr with the mega mushroom to defeat him.
